La Habra Historical Museum
"Embrace History"
About
The La Habra Historical Museum was the inspiration and dream of some of La Habra's earliest settlers including the Sansinena, Smith, Launer, Steele, Ridgway, Proud, and Jenson families. Many contributed work, time, artifacts, or finances to make the museum a reality. It is founded by La Habra Old Settlers Historical Society and directed by Kent Roberts, President of the Old Settlers. Dorothy Steele Knox is the Volunteer Coordinator and Suzette Eschberger serves as the Registrar.
Mission
The La Habra Historical Museum will serve as a center for gathering, preserving, and interpreting significant historical artifacts, including photos, charts, maps, and books, for the purpose of educating and developing an appreciation of La Habra's past. Its mission is to enhance the knowledge of La Habra's heritage by providing attractive and accessible exhibits and related programs emphasizing the understanding of the many historical eras in the community's development from the days of the missions, through the various agricultural periods, the discovery of oil, and the formation of the city and its growth through the decades.

"A Hidden Gem"

The museum is the right size that gave me a personal feel that most museums never offer. The staff is kind and eager to show you what the museum has to offer.
Exhibits are always changing so this is a place you can visit multiple times a year.
